KBS2 '2 Days & 1 Night' will air a special broadcast this week instead of the planned second episode of the Geoje trip.
The 2 Days & 1 Night production team said on the 21st through its official channel, "The second episode of 2 Days & 1 Night: Treasure hunt in Geoje?! scheduled to air on Aug. 23 will be replaced by a special broadcast," and asked for viewers' understanding.
Earlier, 2 Days & 1 Night had revealed the members' Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do travelogue in the broadcast on the 16th. The second story was originally scheduled to continue on the 23rd, but the programming was changed two days before the broadcast.
The production team did not disclose specific reasons for the programming change separately. However, interest is focusing on the background of this decision as it coincided with the recent severe rains that caused major damage in the Geoje area.
In fact, in Geoje, heavy rains caused casualties and damage to facilities, and recovery work is ongoing. To focus on damage recovery and the restoration of citizens' daily lives, Geoje city decided to cancel events including the national marine sports festival, which was scheduled to open on the 27th, the Geoje island flower festival, and the Dundeok grape and Korean beef festival.
Accordingly, the second Geoje episode of 2 Days & 1 Night will not be broadcast as planned and will be replaced by a special broadcast. However, the future broadcast status and schedule of the Geoje second episode have not been officially announced.
