'Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night' actress Lee Hwi-hyang said she felt refined about the scene in the drama 'Stairway to Heaven' where she slapped the young Park Shin-hye.
On the 22nd broadcast of MBN 'Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night', actress Lee Hwi-hyang appeared. Lee, chosen for her first leading film role in her acting career, resumed broadcast activities after 2 years and 3 months.
Lee Hwi-hyang said she mostly played villain roles and had given it a lot of thought. The scene that came out of that was the one in the drama 'Stairway to Heaven' where she slapped Park Shin-hye.
Lee Hwi-hyang said, "Originally the script only said 'slap,' but to me this woman is not someone who would stop at one slap. So she ended up slapping Park Shin-hye. We discussed it with the production team beforehand and filmed it. She probably got hit about 30 times," and added, "Afterward I felt sorry and hugged the child (Park Shin-hye). She said she was okay, but how could she be okay? Her cheek was terribly swollen," expressing distress. She said, "Later, after Park Shin-hye matured, I happened to see her at the airport. Park Shin-hye spoke to me first. I felt happy but also sorry," and said she was still apologetic.
