Fine-dining restaurant chef Anh Sung-jae has been embroiled in a third controversy. A diner who entrusted valet parking said they received fines.
A netizen said on their social media on May 20 that after visiting Anh Sung-jae's restaurant they received a notice of parking violation fines.
The netizen said, "Visited Mosu. Um… I feel it lacked impact… and on top of that, having entrusted the valet and then receiving fines is legendary."
A photo released alongside showed a notice titled 'Vehicle subject to parking violation fines' issued by Yongsan District Office. The vehicle entrusted to valet parking became subject to illegal parking enforcement.
However, it has not been confirmed how the vehicle became subject to illegal parking enforcement, who was driving, or who parked it.
This is not the first controversy related to Anh Sung-jae's restaurant. In May, reviews alleging a wine switch at Anh Sung-jae's establishment sparked criticism. Mosu later issued an official apology, and Anh Sung-jae also apologized through his personal channel.
Anh Sung-jae said, "I once again sincerely apologize for the disappointing, inadequate service that occurred at my establishment recently. I especially deeply apologize again to the customers who may have felt great disappointment because of this incident," and said, "All matters that occurred at Mosu are rightfully my responsibility."
Mosu was later reported to have been embroiled in the valet parking incident controversy, and a company official was reported to have said, "We are also very sorry, but it seems there is nothing we can do. Pursuing legal action against us may be the best option at this point," which drew criticism as an irresponsible response.
Netizens reacted, "After all those controversies, haven't they reflected?", "It's shocking that they entrusted the valet and then received fines," and "We need to verify whether this is certain."
