Heo Yang-im reunited with her 13-year-old son Seung-jae after living apart for a month.

Heo Yang-im arrived early at Incheon Airport to meet her son and, "I came to pick up my son; it's been four weeks since I last saw him," she said, "When he departed it was Saturday, which was the day I see patients. So I couldn't come then, and today is Sunday so I came to pick him up," she said, showing her excitement.
Her son Seung-jae used his summer vacation to attend a ski camp in New Zealand for a month, and Heo Yang-im mentioned his condition, saying, "He went to learn how to ski. Since it's the southern hemisphere, it was winter there, so his skiing improved a lot."
When Heo Yang-im saw her son's face in the arrival area she broke into a bright smile, and a joyful mother-and-son reunion took place. Returning to being a mother rather than the sharp doctor seen on TV, Heo Yang-im asked, "Are you shy because you see mom? Your clothes are a mess," and "You've grown a bit. Looking cool, huh? Your legs are really strong. He usually is a picky eater—did you not be picky?" she asked in rapid succession.
Heo Yang-im said, "Seung-jae is a picky eater. But as he grows he seems to be improving a bit. From what the teacher said this time, he didn't pick and choose and even ate vegetables. He seems to have improved a lot."
Thirteen-year-old Seung-jae had grown a lot in the time they had not seen each other, and as they moved the many pieces of luggage he had stayed abroad with for a month, he showed the dependable side of a son. He even bought a kiwi bird ornament as a gift for his mother to put in the hospital, which moved her. Heo Yang-im laughed, saying, "Seung-jae likes shiny, pretty ornaments. He bought it saying it's my gift, but I think he wanted to have it himself."
Seung-jae also tried filming a self-cam and showed his affectionate side by asking, "Is mom's hospital doing well?"
Meanwhile, Go Ji-yong debuted in 1997 as a member of the idol group Sechs Kies and was much loved as a first-generation idol, but he retired from the entertainment industry after the group disbanded. He married beautiful doctor Heo Yang-im, a graduate of Ewha Womans University, in 2013, and the following year they welcomed a son. However, they divorced in 2025 after 12 years of marriage, and custody was given to the mother, Heo Yang-im.
Along with this, Heo Yang-im recently launched a personal channel and said, "I have done a lot of broadcasting, but that was mostly shows about medical topics, and I hardly ever talked about myself," adding, "If I run my channel, it will be a way to communicate with patients, but I also think I should leave behind my thoughts and more about who I am."
