YouTuber Park Wi removed a CCTV video and apologized after receiving heavy criticism for posting footage related to a fall that occurred while disembarking from a KTX train.
On the 22nd, Park Wi posted an apology on the message board of the YouTube channel WERACLE, saying, "I apologize for disappointing many people with the video uploaded today."
The day before, Park Wi uploaded a video to YouTube titled "CCTV 영상을 공개하는 이유" and explained the reasons for posting the footage. The released video showed Park Wi falling when a wheelchair wheel caught on the foot of a social service worker who was on a ramp while Park Wi was getting on and off the KTX.
Park Wi said the social service worker did not act that way intentionally, but added that she was "very angry" about the act of placing a foot on the ramp itself. Park Wi said the worker had politely apologized after the accident and emphasized preventing recurrence, saying, "A single mistake can lead to a major accident."
After the CCTV footage was released, netizens reacted while understanding Park Wi's startled feelings, saying things like, "If you help someone and make a mistake, will you be posted on YouTube? Who would be afraid to help?" and "I saw the video as soon as it appeared, and it was too careless.
