Singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong revealed his recent status to fans in casual attire.
Kim Hyun-joong wrote "I rode my scooter to hang out and went to a pop-up event!" and "I was a bit hungry so I had a bowl of ramen, then a sweet ice cream, and there was also a prize draw with no blanks, so there were lots of small things to enjoy and it was more fun than I expected haha," and posted several photos and videos.
The released photos and videos show Kim Hyun-joong coming out on a scooter and trying things like an instant ramen cooker on the spot. Wearing his hat pulled down and a mask, Kim Hyun-joong enjoyed ramen and ice cream deliciously, showing a humble side. He then moved on his scooter, and after sharing his daily life for the first time in a while, he also updated fans on his recent status.
Kim Hyun-joong debuted in 2005 as the leader of the idol group SS501 and, while also acting, was greatly loved as a Hallyu star. However, in 2014 he became embroiled in controversy over assault and a paternity dispute with his ex-girlfriend. Six years later, in 2020, he won a ruling that the assault allegations were false and was awarded 100 million won in compensation from his ex-girlfriend. Afterwards Kim Hyun-joong said he would take responsibility regarding paternity, and the personal life controversy was settled for the time being. But during the process all sorts of private matters were exposed, his image quickly declined and he suspended activities in Korea.
Appearing on "B-grade Studio" in February this year, Kim Hyun-joong mentioned the case and confessed, "What is there to be cautious about? I neither gained nor lost anything. A celebrity being found not guilty is not innocence," and "(Although not guilty and no charges were found) I am not concerned about that case."
Also, in May Kim Hyun-joong appeared on the channel "Yoojung and Joojeong" and revealed, "I am tier-1 in fraud. I was massively scammed. I lost several billion won," adding, "It wasn't just one person but several dozen. I had friends since childhood, and I saw people who had been close since childhood change. There were people who suddenly approached with sweet offers."
