Kim Ji-seok showed a different charm by portraying Ji Won-ho, a realistic husband, in OK! Let's Get Divorced.
The first and second episodes of KBS Drama OK! Let's Get Divorced (directed by Joo Sung-woo, written by Hwang Ji-eon, produced by CANVAS N), which aired on the 19th and 20th, depicted Kim Ji-seok's passionate performance as Ji Won-ho, co-CEO and designer of the wedding dress shop G&White. OK! Let's Get Divorced is a work that captures the real divorce experience of a wedding dress shop owner couple who are putting an end to a marriage worn out to the limit.
In the drama, Ji Won-ho faced a crisis while living as a show-window couple, catering to his wife Baek Mi-young (Rhee Minjung). Unlike Mi-young, who actively pursued live broadcasts and variety show appearances to save the struggling G&White, Won-ho put pride first, and conflict between the two deepened. In particular, Mi-young, who had also been carrying the pain of losing a child, eventually declared she wanted a divorce to Won-ho, creating a rift in their relationship.
After talk of divorce arose, Won-ho prioritized practical matters, saying they had to seize opportunities that had come to the company immediately. But when Mi-young actually sent the divorce petition, the situation deteriorated uncontrollably.
Kim Ji-seok breathed life into the character by expressing Won-ho's intuitive personality, who does not hide his thoughts and feelings, through blunt speech and actions. He convincingly portrayed a proud side that tries to solve practical problems while standing firm against Mi-young. Added to this was Kim Ji-seok's signature nonchalant acting, which naturally completed Won-ho's seemingly self-willed yet somewhat sloppy facets.
What stands out is the realistic depiction of a man who began a romantic love but cannot easily let go of his pride when faced with a marital crisis. By playfully portraying Won-ho, who senses the weight of the crisis a step late despite deepening conflict with his wife, the drama heightened its immersion.
Attention is focused on what changes Won-ho, who still cannot accept divorce as a reality, will undergo after the divorce petition. At the same time, expectations are rising about how Kim Ji-seok, who transformed into a husband in crisis, will portray Won-ho's complex emotional changes going forward.
