Singer DinDin revealed an absurd experience he had in a taxi while traveling abroad.
On the 20th episode of MBC every1's Welcome, First Time in Korea?, the summer trip of the Jonas three brothers from Denmark in Korea was featured.
That day, while watching the travel footage, DinDin brought up an incident in Norway where he took a taxi and was asked for an unexpectedly large amount. He recalled, "I only moved for a short time by taxi, but they asked for 400,000 won." The cast expressed surprise at the story that he was charged the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of won even for a short distance. Fortunately, DinDin said he did not pay and got out of the situation by using his wit, which aroused curiosity.
The reason DinDin's anecdote came up was the Denmark brothers' unexpected "Korean taxi experience." Tired from Korea's heat, the brothers got into a taxi to go to a restaurant. After briefly catching their breath in the cool air conditioning, they were once again surprised—this time by the taxi fare.
But it was not because it was expensive; it was the exact opposite. The brothers said that because fares are high in Denmark they do not use taxis easily, and that Korean taxi fares are about one-fifth the level of their country's. Unlike the Danish brothers, who marveled at Korea's taxi fares, DinDin's polar opposite experience of being asked for 400,000 won for a short taxi ride abroad provoked both laughter and shock.
