The ex-girlfriend who alleged dating violence and that she was pressured to have an abortion by actor Hong Min-gi said she will stop additional accusations and pursue legal action.
A, Hong Min-gi's ex-girlfriend, said on the 20th on social media (SNS), "I will no longer post anything about that person on my personal Instagram," adding, "I will file a complaint and make sure he is properly punished in court."
A also deleted all the materials she had released as supporting her claims, including ultrasound images, obstetrics and gynecology visit documents, and photos showing bruises on her body.
Earlier, on the 19th, A disclosed a contents-certified letter sent to Hong Min-gi through a law firm and claimed she suffered dating violence, including assault and threats, while they were in a relationship.
In response, Hong Min-gi's agency, Fable Company, acknowledged that the two dated but denied the allegations, saying, "There are many points that differ from the facts." The agency also said that after the breakup A repeatedly approached Hong Min-gi and his family, and it signaled legal action over stalking and defamation.
A countered, "Stalking is not true," and further claimed that she became pregnant while dating Hong Min-gi and, after being pressured to have an abortion, underwent the procedure alone.
Hong Min-gi's side issued a second statement on the 20th and also denied the allegation that he pressured her to have an abortion. The agency said A never showed a pregnancy test and that Hong Min-gi never asked for an abortion.
It also said it has secured related materials, claiming that on July 13, when A said she had surgery, she suggested to Hong Min-gi that they go cycling and sent a video of herself riding a bicycle.
As both Hong Min-gi's side and A said they will pursue legal action instead of further accusations or public rebuttals, the dispute is expected to move to the courtroom.
