Actress Kim Go-eun decided to move past each other's mistakes with her manager.
Recently, the Blue Dragon Film Awards·Blue Dragon Series Awards YouTube channel released an interview with Kim Go-eun, winner of the Blue Dragon Series Awards grand prize, titled "I'll open my eyes, nose and mouth wide, hey Lee Sang Yi! Cheer up?"
In the video, Kim Go-eun said of winning in the past and receiving the grand prize this time, "I'm grateful for the award itself this time, but I received so many sincere congratulations from people around me that those feelings reached me even more deeply," adding, "A few days ago I met director Jung Ji-woo, actor Park Hae-il and makeup director Song Jong-hee, who worked with me on my debut film 'Eun-gyo.' The people who were with me at the start sincerely congratulated me, and especially when director Jung Ji-woo said 'thank you,' I felt a depth of gratitude that words cannot express."
In particular, Kim Go-eun spoke about finishing the Yumi's Cells series, which she had worked on for five years, saying, "I didn't expect it to go as far as season 3, but I took on the challenge with the intention of ending on a high note for the fans who loved the work," and added, "Seasons 1 and 2 received such good reviews that the pressure was great, but I was relieved that the on-set reaction was enthusiastic. The five years remain as precious memories, and I hope that more long-running series dramas will be produced in Korea."
Kim Go-eun also shared an episode in which her manager dropped the grand prize trophy on the ground. She said, "My manager dropped the trophy on the asphalt and it got scratched," and added, "I was sorry I couldn't mention my manager's name in my acceptance speech, but he said, 'You couldn't speak in your speech, and you dropped the trophy, so let's call it even,' and that was how it ended. I'm sincerely grateful to my manager who has been with me for all my works," she said with a laugh.
Finally, Kim Go-eun said, "These days I often think I am going through the most brilliant period of my life. There were times I felt frustrated for not being recognized, and there have been times like now when I receive great praise. I want to approach acting with the same unchanged sincerity so that I won't rest on good reviews and can endure quietly even if a time comes when no one acknowledges me in the future."
