Mixed martial artist and television personality Choo Sung Hoon will pause broadcasting activities to prepare for a retirement bout scheduled for November.
Choo Sung Hoon will compete at the mixed martial arts (MMA) event "Black Combat 17" at Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro District, Seoul, on Nov. 21. The bout is his official retirement match and is expected to be the final stage capping his long career.
Choo Sung Hoon is currently focused on preparing for the retirement bout. To concentrate on the final fight, he is expected to scale back variety and other TV appearances until the match.
However, programs already filmed will be released as scheduled. "The boss is crazy," released on the 19th, was also shot before he began full-fledged preparations for the retirement bout.
"The boss is crazy" is content in which Choo Sung Hoon seeks out corporations with strong growth potential and takes part in management for a day. With Lee Eunji, Choo identifies companies whose products are competitive but brand awareness is low, and proposes management directions and promotional strategies.
Choo Sung Hoon will also appear in SBS Plus and MBN's "A man's way to travel," slated to air in October. He teams up again with Kim Jong Kook, his previous partner on the show.
A former judoka, Choo Sung Hoon transitioned to mixed martial arts and competed on multiple stages including K-1, UFC, and ONE Championship. He later broadened his activities by appearing on a range of variety programs.
