(Interview continued②) 'Bloody Game X' Lee Jin-hyung expressed bittersweet feelings over Yunbi's belated performance.
On the 19th afternoon at Post Tower in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, a joint interview was held with Lee Jin-hyung and Lee Tae-gyun for the Wavve survival variety show 'Bloody Game X'.
'Bloody Game X' is an extreme survival game featuring the strongest physical competitors. Lee Jin-hyung joined Bloody Game X as the season 2 winner of Bloody Game, forming P2 team with Ha Seung-jin, Hyeon Seong-ju, Yunbi and others to compete in the survival game.
Asked whether there was a moment when he felt most like a team while playing with his teammates, Lee Jin-hyung confessed, "We were eliminated as a team and went home, but I didn't feel hatred. Of course it's natural to feel regret, but separately from that I didn't feel 'I dropped out because of these people,' 'it's unfair,' 'I hate them to death,' or 'I'll never see them again.'"
He said, "We all just worked hard together, did our best as a team, and the things that happened in that process are things that can happen. I just felt like we had a really fun, clean finish. To be honest, I didn't really like team matches at first. I'm an independent person. But during that short time of a few days, at some point a sense of being a team may have formed," adding, "At that time I didn't feel hateful; I felt relieved and bittersweet, so I thought team matches might unknowingly build team cohesion more than I expected."
P2 team, which included Lee Jin-hyung, lost to P3 team in the 'commute to hell' deathmatch held on day 4. As a result, except for Hyeon Seong-ju, who had moved early to team R, Ha Seung-jin, Yunbi and Lee Jin-hyung all tasted elimination. When asked whether he felt it was a pity regarding Yunbi's play, which had made major mistakes during the game and played a big role in the team's elimination, Lee Jin-hyung replied, "Looking back, wasn't it funny? I think it's okay because it was funny. I always think that if you're going to do something, you should do it decisively. If you're going to be funny, be clearly funny. In that sense it was really entertaining. And actually everyone makes mistakes. As someone who has made many big mistakes that will go down in Bloody Game history, those individual mistakes don't hold huge meaning for me," he answered composedly.
However, Yunbi actually survived until the end in the revival match held among the eliminated contestants and rejoined the game, and with snake-like performance advanced to the semifinals in the latest episode. Asked about that, Lee Jin-hyung said sincerely, "I'm jealous. You should have done well earlier.." which drew laughter.
He said, "I also think Yunbi's play is very close to the identity of Bloody Game. He's rational and seeks his own benefit, and in that it succeeded, so I think he's a very good player. There are aspects of that I also want to learn."
When asked whether there were moments he felt regret or wished to turn back while watching Bloody Game X, Lee Jin-hyung said frankly, "Every choice and every moment and situation can have regrets, but I don't think there are moments I regret or want to reverse. I'm just very happy and honored and grateful that I could appear on Bloody Game again. Although it was only a few days, it was a very precious memory, so I don't feel the need to go back and change one thing."
