Broadcaster-turned-media personality Oh Jung-yeon returned to filming just one day after eustachian tube patulous surgery.
Oh Jung-yeon shared an update on her condition on the 20th by posting photos taken on set to her social media.
She said, "I had the surgery yesterday, was discharged the same day, and today I am filming a drama," indicating she quickly returned to her routine. She added, "I posted the story to share information in case there are people living without knowing it was a disease like me, and I received more support than I expected," expressing gratitude to those who worried about her.
Earlier, Oh Jung-yeon confessed that on the 19th she learned for the first time this year that the symptoms she had experienced for about 30 years since high school were "eustachian tube patulous." She said, "I thought I had to endure living with discomfort for 30 years, but once I learned it was a disorder I consulted an authority and finally had surgery," and noted, "It was a small but not simple operation."
She even expressed sympathy while mentioning singer IU, who has the same disorder, saying, "I also know the hardship that inevitably appears when I overexert myself with exercise or broadcasting, so I felt even more sorry."
Eustachian tube patulous is a condition in which the eustachian tube, which should normally be closed, remains abnormally open. Oh Jung-yeon urged those bothered by the same symptoms to carefully consider treatment and said, "If there is improvement, one can expect a better quality of life going forward."
