On the 17th, the YouTube channel "Hyehwaroun Performance Life" featured actors appearing in the musical "Bak Yeol," who sat down to talk.
However, during the conversation, mocking remarks about absent colleague A continued, and as criticism grew, Hyun Seok-jun reflected, saying on social media, "I sincerely bow my head and apologize for causing concern to many people due to my thoughtless words and actions."
He explained why the apology was delayed, saying, "I thought the best course was to visit the colleague who may have felt uncomfortable because of my insufficient behavior and deliver a heartfelt apology in person," and added, "I am truly sorry to all audience members who felt discomfort and disappointment watching my broadcast."
Son Yoo-dong also said, "I sincerely bow my head and apologize to everyone who felt discomfort because of my remarks and actions during the 'Bak Yeol' team broadcast on Hyehwaroun Performance Life on the 17th. Bringing up a story about a colleague who was not present in a lighthearted way in a public forum watched by many people, and anticipating the person's reaction in advance, was extremely unguarded behavior."
He continued, "After the broadcast I first apologized to the actor in question, and then during the process of organizing my statement, publicly expressing my position became too delayed. I am sorry about that as well. I will slowly review each of my actions and strive to be an actor who behaves more thoughtfully going forward."
The musical "Bak Yeol" production company, Double K Entertainment Co., Ltd., also posted an apology, saying, "Recently, during a broadcast featuring actors from 'Bak Yeol,' comments about a specific actor were mentioned, and in that process some expressions caused discomfort to the person involved and to viewers of the broadcast. As the production company, we sincerely apologize for not having carefully monitored the situation."
The production company also announced, "We have worked with the broadcast channel to make the related video private to minimize the re-spread of speculation and remarks directed at the person involved and the participating actors."
