That day Kang Ye-won visited Hangzhou, China, for the first time in 16 years to expand the cosmetics she made into the Chinese market. However, she encountered an unexpected obstacle from the very start of the entry process. The automated immigration inspection read that her passport photo did not match her current face. Kang Ye-won recounted the absurd situation, saying, "Because it was an old photo, the passport was read as mismatched by the automatic recognition." She added, "This is ridiculous. I might have to get a new passport," and showed her passport.
Comparing her old passport photo with her current face, Kang Ye-won joked, "You think my old face and my current face are this different. It's my fault, not anyone else's. Are they that different?"
