Singer-songwriter Anda-young, who breaks common sense and boundaries, returns to fans with a new song that contains a delicate breakup narrative.
Anda-young will release the new digital single "2km" today (20th) at 6 p.m. on various online music sites and aim for an emotional strike.
This new song "2km" is the follow-up to the single "To the truth," which she released in March. It captures the process in which memories of a summer spent together slowly transform into an unfamiliar sense of distance as winter passes. A presence that was once closer than anyone else expresses, in Anda-young's distinctive sensory and delicate language, the feeling of having become unreachable at some point.
"2km" is based on rock sound and calmly depicts the complex emotions arising from changes in a relationship. Anda-young wrote the lyrics and composed the song herself, adding authenticity, and producer dress co-participated in the arrangement, raising the song's completeness with a restrained yet deep sound.
In particular, this song reexamines relationships through physical and psychological distances of closeness and remoteness. Like the message "The blank that appears is for what comes next," it conveys a mature attitude of leaving a drifted relationship as it is rather than forcing it to stay and defines breakup as "a blank for a new beginning."
This project, connecting "To the truth" and "2km," will be expanded into a new EP album to be released later. Anda-young will set out on the journey "For the blank: ㅤ" with the two singles as the starting point and plans to put the musical narrative she has steadily built into one album.
Earlier, Anda-young burst onto the music scene by winning the grand prize at the 2012 Yoo Jae-ha Music Contest, and she was recognized for her musicality by winning the special jury award for "Hello Rookie of the Year" on EBS's "Space Sympathy" with the post-rock band "In endless reverberation we are" (Geutjanhyang). Afterwards, she released her first full-length album ANTIHERO and the EP Burning Letter, building a distinctive musical domain that traverses pop and rock.
