Ji Young-il revealed recent news that she has overcome a period of obscurity and is active as a solo singer.
On the afternoon of the 20th, Ji Young-il appeared on KBS 2 Radio's Eun Ga-eun's Shining Trot in the "Shining invitation" segment and talked.
That day, regarding her appearance on "무명전설", which drew attention, she said, "Those who have participated in audition programs will probably agree with the comment 'I never want to do it again.' It's such a difficult journey that I have never achieved good results until now, so I challenged myself to make my name known as a solo singer," she said, explaining her motivation.
Ji Young-il mentioned the first round's "Open Sesame" as the most memorable moment and confessed, "I rarely received praise for my music during my career as a singer. After receiving an all-top with 'Open Sesame,' I remember Kim Kwang-kyu looking awkward when someone else said, 'Give this song to me,'" she admitted.
After singing "Open Sesame" on site, Ji Young-il showed passionate vocal skills, and Eun Ga-eun marveled, "I've never seen someone come on the radio and perform like a concert. I think people like this really deserve to succeed. It was an incredibly cool stage."
Ji Young-il also expressed tender feelings toward her father, Ji Jang-won, saying, "He has endured an even longer period of obscurity than I have. I hope a son and father who rely on each other can get through their obscure years well."
