Mimi will release her first solo single "Bish Bash Bosh" (Bish Bash Bosh) at 6 p.m. today (20th) on various online music sites and begin her full-fledged solo career.
The new song "Bish Bash Bosh" uses "ready," "self-assurance" and "bold energy" as keywords and is a break-beat-based hip-hop track that vividly showcases artist Mimi's true colors. In particular, Mimi poured out her unparalleled capabilities as an artist by leading the entire production as well as writing and composing the song herself. Q. You are debuting as a solo artist 11 years after your debut. Please share your feelings about releasing your first single "Bish Bash Bosh" and introduce the song. "'Bish Bash Bosh' is a song that expresses, with heavy and strong break beats, the meaning of "being ready to go the path I want as an artist." Because it is a song that is truly me, it feels like opening and stepping through a new door as artist Mimi, and I feel very excited and nervous."
Q. What are the performance highlights and what did you most want to show as a solo artist? "The key performance point is DJing. I didn't want to just fake it; I wanted to realistically incorporate the various sides I've built up through activities into the rap and performance. I focused on showing 'artist Mimi' as she truly is."
Q. You participated directly in producing, writing and composing. What message did you want to convey to listeners and what did you emphasize most? "I wanted to convey the message 'don't be afraid to take a step forward' and 'open a new door confidently and enjoy it.' There were moments I couldn't do that either, but having grown and now enjoying change, I wanted to share that energy. As 'Bish Bash Bosh' means 'got the job done,' I conveyed the feeling of 'we can do it' in an intense yet playful way."
What I emphasized most is my "realness." I wanted to show a free-spirited side together with DJing. DJing is not something I learned briefly but a field I have practiced directly for years, so you will be able to see many of my new charms."
Q. By choosing DJing, do you feel you have developed yourself in any way? "Musically and personally I have grown a level. Because it was a result made by directly exchanging opinions and collaborating with the crew outside of a confined framework, it feels more precious and gives me a deeper sense of responsibility. As 'human Mimi' I became much more solid, and thanks to that I was able to fill both the visuals and music with my own color."
Q. What does "Bish Bash Bosh" mean to you, Mimi, and what kind of starting point do you think it will remain in your musical life? "It is like a 'stair' to move up to the next level. Because it contains all my narratives, my future path and mindset, every moment I step forward as a solo artist is truly meaningful."
Q. Please give a message to the fans who waited a long time for your solo debut. "My beloved Miracles! Saying thank you is never enough, and I feel very sorry for making you wait so long. I am truly grateful that you have waited and loved me without change. I will come to you more often filled with love, so please look forward to it. I truly love you."
