Actor Kim Go-eun expressed regret for not receiving Park Ji-hyun's congratulations because of Lee Sang Yi's "open eyes, nose and mouth" reaction.
Recently, the Blue Dragon Film Awards·Blue Dragon Series Awards YouTube channel released an interview with Kim Go-eun, the grand prize winner of the Blue Dragon Series Awards, titled "I'll open all eyes, nose and mouth for you, hey Lee Sang Yi! Cheer up?"
In the video, Kim Go-eun said in her grand prize acceptance speech, "I was very proud inside to see that both works I participated in were nominated for best picture. Doing many works does not always lead to all positive evaluations, so I was happy to have achieved results. Although I was a little disappointed at not receiving best picture, I was truly surprised when my name was called for the grand prize."
Kim Go-eun added, "Just in case, I had briefly prepared only an acceptance speech for best actress, but when I actually received the grand prize, all the works I presented over the past year flashed before my eyes and my mind went blank. I gratefully accepted it as encouragement and praise that I have worked hard and run well."
Kim Go-eun missed Park Ji-hyun's hug because of Lee Sang Yi's intense congratulations. Kim Go-eun said, "I found out later after watching the video," adding, "At the venue, my schoolmate Lee Sang Yi was behind me loudly chanting 'Hey! Kim Go-eun!' with a huge voice, so I was completely distracted."
She continued, "Because I was responding to Lee Sang Yi's greeting, I didn't see Ji-hyun, who had her arms outstretched right in front of me, and I passed by her. I checked the video later and sent Ji-hyun a long apology text," adding, "Thanks to meeting such an excellent partner, I was able to be recognized with such a valuable award and good works. I always support you and thank you."
In particular, Kim Go-eun thanked Lee Sang Yi for the "open eyes, nose and mouth" reaction, saying, "I contacted him separately to thank him because his passionate reaction made the award I received feel even more precious. I told him that if I am in the same place when Lee Sang Yi receives an award later, I will also open both my nostrils and mouth," and she added, "Lee Sang Yi, cheer up," which drew laughter.
