Group Red Velvet member Wendy announced legal action over appearance evaluations and sexually harassing posts.
On the 19th, agency ASND said via its official social media, "We previously informed that we will respond sternly to malicious slander, dissemination of false information, defamation and sexual harassment directed at our artists."
It added, "Nevertheless, until recently, malicious evaluations and denigration targeting the artist's appearance and body, sexual objectification and sexually harassing posts and comments have continued to be confirmed."
The agency emphasized, "In particular, acts that single out an artist's body for sexual remarks or evaluation, mockery and denigration of appearance and body, and malicious dissemination of untrue information — in short, all acts that violate the artist's dignity and rights — are clear defamation that cannot be regarded simply as opinion or freedom of expression."
The agency said, "We will continuously collect evidence of currently confirmed posts and comments as well as any malicious posts identified in the future, and regardless of the severity of the matter, we will actively respond to acts that infringe on the artist's rights and interests."
