The group BTS was nominated for song of the year at the 2026 MTV VMA.
Big Hit Music said on the 19th that, according to the announcement of the 2026 MTV VMA (2026 MTV Video Music Awards) on the 18th (local time), BTS's fifth full-length album ARIRANG's title track SWIM was named a nominee for the top prize, song of the year.
This means BTS will compete for the award against Sabrina Carpenter's Bring Your Love, PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson's Stateside (PinkPantheress), Ray's WHERE IS MY HUSBAND! and others.
Previously, BTS became the first Korean artist to be nominated for song of the year at the 2021 MTV VMA with Dynamite, and they are challenging for the award again after five years.
In addition, BTS was nominated in the best K-pop category. They won the trophy in that category for three consecutive years from 2019 to 2021, tying the record for most wins.
Also, LE SSERAFIM's Spaghetti (SPAGHETTI (feat. j-hope of BTS)), featuring BTS member J-Hope, was also nominated in the same category.
