The Firefighters will face university baseball powerhouse Busan University of Science and Technology in a live game.
On the 22nd at 6:30 p.m., the Firefighters will play their 13th live game of the season against Busan University of Science and Technology at Busan Sajik Baseball Stadium.
This game draws attention as it is the first Sajik Stadium game since "part-timer" Jeong Hun's retirement. Jeong Hun joined the Fighters after ending his active career, having spent 16 seasons as a one-club man with the Lotte Giants.
Jeong Hun is currently a part-timer, but he has received a promise from Director General Jang Si-won that he will be converted to full-time staff the moment he wins the MVP. Whether Jeong Hun's conversion to full-time staff at Sajik Stadium after 16 years will happen remains to be seen.
By contrast, Busan University of Science and Technology (Busan UST), which will face the Fighters, was founded in 2020 and claimed the top spot at the 2023 "KUSF University Baseball U-League champion of champions," the 2025 "President's Cup national university baseball tournament," the National Sports Festival, and the 2026 "national university baseball championship."
Having swept the four major tournaments and achieved a "career grand slam" within six years of its founding, attention is focused on whether Busan University of Science and Technology can show all-time great performance against the Firefighters.
