BTS proved its formidable global music power by appearing on the U.S. Billboard main chart for 21 consecutive weeks.
On Aug. 18 (local time), according to the latest chart (Aug. 22) released by U.S. music publication Billboard, BTS's fifth full-length album "Arirang" (ARIRANG) ranked 21st on the main album chart, the Billboard 200.
Earlier, the album made a pleasant debut at No. 1 on the chart dated April 4 and held the top spot for three consecutive weeks. It has since secured a position in the rankings for a remarkable 21 consecutive weeks, showcasing its dominant long-running popularity. In addition, it swept major album subcharts, ranking seventh on Top Album Sales, 24th on Vinyl Albums and 32nd on Top Streaming Albums.
The strong performance on music charts is also fierce. The title track "SWIM" ranked fifth on the Global (excluding U.S.) chart, which tallies streaming and digital sales across more than 200 countries and territories, marking 21 consecutive weeks in the top 10. It also landed at 12 on the Global 200 chart, once again proving its worldwide explosive power not limited to a specific region.
The successive chart marches of the album tracks also draw attention. In particular, album track "NORMAL" spectacularly re-entered the charts after its music video and Korean audio were released on the 17th of last month, rising to 36 on the Global (excluding U.S.) chart and 57 on the Global 200. In addition, five tracks in total — "Body to Body" (130), "2.0" (154), "Hooligan" (157) — are placed on the Global (excluding U.S.) chart, showing that the entire album is receiving balanced love.
Meanwhile, BTS opened the curtain on the second North American leg of their tour on the 1st and 2nd in East Rutherford, U.S. Having recently completed a successful performance at AT&T Stadium in Arlington as the first Korean artist to do so, they will move to Toronto's Rogers Stadium on Aug. 22–23 to continue the hot momentum of the North American tour.
