The agency of girl group RESCENE donated 50 million won to help residents of Geoje, South Gyeongsang, who were hit by record torrential rains.
On the 19th, according to the pop music industry, RESCENE's agency The Muse Entertainment visited Geoje City and delivered 50 million won to support recovery from heavy rain damage and aid for disaster victims.
RESCENE recently formed a special connection with Geoje. Minami's shout of "Geoje yahoo!" on member Woni's personal YouTube channel went viral as a meme on short-form platforms, drawing attention. After that, RESCENE was appointed as a promotional ambassador for Geoje City.
RESCENE's fandom "Remind" also joined in supporting flood recovery. Remind began fundraising on the 18th through the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to help flood-affected neighbors in South Gyeongsang, and more than 40 million won has been raised so far.
The South Gyeongsang region, including Geoje, suffered a series of damages as record downpours fell over the Liberation Day holiday period. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the cumulative rainfall over the three days from the 15th to the 17th reached 928.0 mm in Geoje and 752.8 mm in Tongyeong.
