Singer-songwriter Gu-reum returns to fans with a new song that captures tender feelings at the waning end of summer.
Gu-reum will release the new single "I guess I was someone who liked summer" today (the 18th) at 6 p.m. on various online music sites and will make a surprise comeback.
This new song is the first release in about two months since the single "Saying I love you is not something to be embarrassed about," released in June. While the previous work conveyed the bright, refreshing excitement of early summer, this time it foreshadows a change to a deeper emotional line by capturing the season's fading regrets and tender afterimages as it slowly bows its head.
The new song "I guess I was someone who liked summer" is a track that combines medium-tempo pop and folk sounds. Like the cooling breeze and the rain that signals the end of summer, its lyrical atmosphere, which evokes the moment when seasons cross, blends organically with Gu-reum's distinctive delicate vocals.
The lyrics also sketch summer's distinctive memories—night sea, late-night hours, travel—in a three-dimensional way. By conveying a warm farewell that promises the next summer and the lingering feelings left behind for a season not fully enjoyed, it is expected to leave listeners with a lasting impression.
Having recently continued meaningful activities such as participating in the audiobook OST "First summer, Completion" by writer Kim Geum-hee and donating the revenue, Gu-reum is expected to once again demonstrate her unique musical spectrum through this new song.<
