"Love On The Menu" Ha Seok-jin and Ahn Heeyeon ultimately chose different loves.
On the 16th, KBS2's weekend drama Love On The Menu (writer Lee Kyung-hee, director Hong Seok-gu) recorded a 15.6% viewership rating (Nielsen Korea, nationwide households). This is the highest among weekend broadcasts.
In that episode, the recently separated Kim Mujin (Ha Seok-jin) and Han Gyurim (Ahn Heeyeon) each decided to begin new relationships with Jang Seohyun (Lee Ju-yeon) and Jo Heung-sik (Bae Jung-nam).
Jo Heung-sik was injured while trying to save Han-gyeol (Yun Ha-bin) from a falling sign and was taken to the emergency room. Han Gyurim, who rushed over after receiving the call, was relieved to find Han-gyeol unharmed but could not hide her shock at seeing Jo Heung-sik with casts on both arms. Jo Heung-sik reassured them that he was fine, and Han Gyurim's eyes welled with gratitude and remorse toward him.
Han Gyurim stepped forward to take full responsibility for the injured Jo Heung-sik in place of Park Sunam (Kang Ae-sim). When Jo Heung-sik, embarrassed, said his mother might misunderstand, Han Gyurim made it clear she was not joking. Later, as she stayed by Jo Heung-sik's side and took care of him attentively after he returned home, Jo Heung-sik could not hide his fluttering excitement and embarrassment.
While Han Gyurim chose Jo Heung-sik, Kim Mujin stayed by Jang Seohyun's side. Jang Hoon-tae (Kwon Hae-hyo), invited Kim Mujin to his home to take revenge on his behalf for the heartache Kim Mujin had caused Jang Seohyun, and deliberately served spicy stir-fried squid. Unable to eat spicy food and allergic to squid, Jang Seohyun ate it anyway and collapsed.
Keeping watch at Jang Seohyun's hospital room, Kim Mujin chided her with worried reproach, saying she nearly died because she risked herself for him. Jang Seohyun replied self-deprecatingly, "There have even been people who went mad for love, abandoned their own country and tore apart the jangmyunggo," and then told him not to give her any more hope and, rather, to marry Han Gyurim. Faced with Jang Seohyun's heartfelt confession, Kim Mujin was overwhelmed with remorse and guilt.
Han Gyurim called Jo Heung-sik and proposed, "Let's seriously try dating," and Kim Mujin, despite Ko Yoon-hee's plea that he need not visit, went to the hospital and said, "Let's meet not as older brother and younger sister but properly as a man and a woman."
