BABYMONSTER heated up Japan's 'Summer Sonic 2026 (SUMMER SONIC 2026)' with a flawless live performance, successfully claiming the festival for the third consecutive year.
BABYMONSTER stood on the Marine Stage (main stage) of 'Summer Sonic 2026,' held at Zozo Marine Stadium in Chiba, Japan, on the 14th. Marking their third consecutive appearance this year, they for the first time adorned the main stage of the Chiba performance, proving their dramatically elevated local standing.
The explosive interest in them was detectable even before the show. On social media, praise for last year's performance and expectations for this year poured in, and when the actual performance began a huge crowd surged toward the stage, leaving local officials astonished.
Opening spectacularly with 'WE GO UP,' which topped the Oricon album chart on its release day, BABYMONSTER showcased diverse charms by performing 'Choom (CHOOM)', 'MOON' and 'Really Like You' in succession. During the 'DRIP' performance, which surpassed 100 million cumulative Oricon streams, an enormous singalong erupted from the audience. In addition, a refreshing YG-style summer-song relay including 'FOREVER', 'I LIKE IT', 'HOT SAUCE' and 'SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA' drove the midsummer festival energy to its peak.
Particularly notable were their unwavering hand-mic live vocals and polished stage manners. Emitting explosive vocals and rapping while moving across the stage, BABYMONSTER performed 11 songs without tiring over about 50 minutes. Amid enthusiastic cheers the members said they were happy and grateful to be able to show a live performance on such a wonderful stage and hoped it would become the best memory of this summer, conveying their overwhelming sincerity.
Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER's exceptional local ticket power is also proven on their world tour. The Japan dates of their second world tour, '2026-27 BABYMONSTER WORLD TOUR [Choom (CHOOM)],' in five arena cities (Kobe, Fukuoka, Yokohama, Chiba, Nagoya) sold out all seats. Riding the momentum, on Sept. 22 and 23 they will for the first time in their debut perform at Kyocera Dome Osaka, spectacularly capping their Japan tour, after which they plan to continue an aggressive run touring five continents worldwide.
