The group Stray Kids set a remarkable record by achieving nine consecutive No. 1s on the U.S. main album chart, the Billboard 200, breaking the record for the most by a group in the 21st century once again.
According to Billboard, released on the 16th (local time), Stray Kids' new mini album THIS & THAT, released on the 7th, rose to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated the 22nd. The total units, combining album sales, streaming equivalent albums (SEA) and track equivalent albums (TEA), reached 369,000 units (357,000 in sales, 11,000 SEA, 1,000 TEA). This is a 25% increase over the previous release and marks their highest first-week total in the U.S., securing their ninth overall No. 1 and firmly holding the title for the most No. 1s by a group in the 21st century.
Insisting on self-producing each album and establishing themselves as global history makers, they tied with Taylor Swift for the most No. 1s among artists in the 2020s overall. By group record, they ranked joint second with the Rolling Stones behind the Beatles, and notably set the record for the fastest artist since the Beatles to place nine albums at No. 1.
They first entered and topped the chart in 2022 with ODDINARY, set the record as the first artist worldwide to debut at No. 1 six times in a row with 合 (HOP) in 2024, and continued to top the chart with KARMA and DO IT in 2025 and THIS & THAT in 2026, raising pride in K-pop with each successive release.
In particular, the mini album maximized their characteristic trendy and sophisticated charm, as the group's producing unit 3RACHA worked on all eight tracks, including the title track This & That. According to South Korea's Hanteo Chart, first-week sales also surpassed 3,289,269 copies, showing a dramatic increase of more than 1 million copies compared with the previous release.
