Comedian Hong Yoon-hwa spoke about health problems that followed after losing 40kg and even shared an outrageous "abalone diet" episode.
On the 15th, the MBN program Dongchimi aired an episode in which the "mukbang goddess" Hong Yoon-hwa appeared as a guest and showcased her blunt and candid wit on the topic "Aren't you going to lose weight?"
That day, when Choi Hong-rim asked, "Are you deliberately not losing weight?" she replied wittily, "I did lose weight?" and had the studio laughing from the start. When photos from the time she had lost 40kg were shown, she confessed tearfully, "When I lost 40kg my body experienced problems. For the first time in my life I suffered nutritional imbalance, and I developed tinnitus and dizziness, so I gained weight again for my health."
In particular, Hong Yoon-hwa's extraordinary diet horror story had viewers in stitches. At the time of her weight loss she said she would get protein and, among 20 abalones she received as birthday gifts, she devoured 11 at once and then was bedridden for three days. Hong Yoon-hwa revealed the unexpected behind-the-scenes of the "abalone diet," saying, "I had an upset stomach and just lost 7kg," prompting exclamations from the cast.
Her sweet-and-savage newlywed life with husband Kim Min-gi also added to the laughter. Hong Yoon-hwa strongly agreed with the saying "marriage is the enemy of dieting," saying candidly, "My husband and I went searching for restaurants and gained weight together, so we dieted together. On days we fight we have hearty side dishes and a glass of kaoliang. When things are good we gain weight, and when things are bad we gain weight too."
Meanwhile, fellow guest Yoo Min-sang also confessed that he was shocked by a doctor's remark, "There is no such thing as a fat grandfather in the world," and has been getting diet injections for a month, completing the "mukbang siblings" chemistry with Hong Yoon-hwa.
