Comedian Park Seong-gwang's wife, Lee Sol, shared her thoughts after delivering a congratulatory speech at a close friend's wedding.
On the 16th, Lee Sol posted on her channel, "A beloved friend got married recently! I gave a congratulatory speech for the first time, and my throat tightened before I even went up," along with a video.
Lee Sol described her friend as, "a friend who always bravely pulled me out into the world by my side when I was passing through a dark, long tunnel," and added, "Thank you so much for becoming a precious connection in my life back then, my friend. Thinking of you now, the phrase 'si-jeol in-yeon' (a bond of a time) feels so tender, so I posted this."
In particular, in the video Lee Sol said she is currently doing a diet of emptying out relationships. She said, "I am on a diet. Not for the body, but a diet to empty out relationships. It's somewhat different from the so-called cut-off in a cold, exact way."
She continued, "It is closer to carefully folding away passing relationships under the name 'si-jeol in-yeon' — preserving them as they were at their most tender. There are times when people intensely weave each other's daily lives together, and then at some point they may become those who only occasionally check in after a very long time without adding resentment — an appropriate distance. After countless experiences in which relying too much and getting too close unbeknownst to me tightened the strings of the heart so much that expectations turned into hurt, I finally began to give each relationship its own season."
Lee Sol said, "Relationships have a spring that excites, a hot summer, a lonely autumn and a piercing winter. It is also quite natural that among those seasons there are 'si-jeol in-yeon' that resemble transitional periods. Loving those period bonds may be the most affirmative thing you can do for the times that have passed, don't you think?"
Last year Lee Sol revealed she was battling female cancer, drawing sympathy, and recently she was swept up in divorce rumors with Park Seong-gwang. Lee Sol denied the circulating divorce reports directly, saying, "There was a time when I met someone with different values and we stayed up all night trying to persuade each other. Those were days when I tried to pick words to contain my emotions and force them into the other person's heart."
Meanwhile, Lee Sol and Park Seong-gwang married in 2020.
