Singer Jeong Eun-ji released a new song and shared the behind-the-scenes story of how she came to compose it.
On the 14th, the YouTube channel 'Kim Bum Soo' uploaded a video titled 'Jeong Eun-ji furious after playing her album to Kim Bum Soo (added 100 lies)'.
On that day, singer Jeong Eun-ji appeared as a guest on the 'Kim Bum Soo wants to hear' corner. Jeong Eun-ji passionately performed the title track she composed herself, 'Pado (i love LOVE)', showcasing refreshing high notes.
Impressed, Kim Bum Soo praised, "The song is so good," but also asked, "But this song is a hell song. Why did you make a song like this? If you make it yourself, can't you do an easy song?"
Jeong Eun-ji said, "Right. But going the easy route isn't fun, is it? And before I wrote 'Pado' I really, really agonized. Because the public's image of Jeong Eun-ji is 'skygazer' and 'high notes.' But 'skygazer' doesn't have high notes."
She continued, "The rest of the high notes became an image I created while doing broadcasts and covering songs on YouTube. So I kept thinking, 'What exactly should I do so the public will like me a little more?' and that made it too difficult," she confessed.
She said she fell into a dilemma over what the public liked and what she liked. Jeong Eun-ji said, "It was so difficult. It was a constant dilemma."
Jeong Eun-ji explained the reason she composed the song, saying, "But actually I don't dislike what the public likes, and it's one of the genres I like. Since I like singing high notes, I put high notes in and then did a band, which is a genre I like, so this time I really tried my best and went for it."
About the message she said, "This is the first time I produced an entire album of love songs. The message I wanted to convey is not about loving someone as a lover but 'I really love (you)'—I really wanted to express that," adding, "I felt my image had a coolness to it, so I made this title with the mindset of becoming that cool older sister."
