Actor Jeon So-min's younger brother Jeon Uk-min revealed that he had a business failure in the past.
On the 15th, Jeon Uk-min said, "I used to dislike people who go on about their glory days. At my age, almost forty, I'm a ggan-dae 영포티 and now I'm talking about my glory days. Sometimes I rummage through iCloud in a corner of the house and pull out the "glory days" when I was doing fairly well. 'Ah, I was in good shape then..' 'I was pretty decent then..' and I became an old man who talks about his glory days."
He added, "But I think that if there is an uphill, there will be a downhill; my life will be like that too. So I run today for the 'glory days' I'll be talking about 10 years from now."
In a video released with this, Jeon Uk-min said, "I quit the work I had been doing for more than 10 years. I also had my own golden era. I liked exercise from childhood and naturally went to a physical education track, the military, and worked as a trainer. From 26 to 31 I worked hard and saved a little money to open a center."
He continued, "At first it went well. I thought I'd be rich soon if things continued like that. But I learned that not everything goes as you think. Suddenly hit by COVID, sales hit rock bottom and I became increasingly anxious."
He also said, "There is a saying: don't go shopping when you're hungry. In a rush I took out a card loan and started a protein business. I had exercised for a long time and had built my body, so I thought it would be easy. Looking back now, I think I took many things a bit too lightly."
In the end the business failed. He said, "As expected, the protein business I started without any plan collapsed. I survived day to day squeezed by card loan interest and debt, and rent. 'Tomorrow will be better'—that thought faded day by day, and eventually I quit exercise, being a trainer, and the center. And now I have neither saved money nor a flashy resume. Many tell me not to overdo it and just live quietly."
Finally he added, "But I will struggle to the end. So that someday I can look back on this day and laugh, I run today as well."
Earlier, Jeon Uk-min's revelation that he was making a living doing delivery part-time work drew attention. In the video he said, "My older sister is a famous actor," and added, "Thanks to my sister I appeared on broadcasts several times. So I dreamed of becoming an actor too. From the outside it felt, how should I put it, familiar? So I actually thought I would succeed."
However, Jeon Uk-min said, "But the wall of reality was much higher and thicker than I thought. I'm 38, almost forty. I have neither a flashy resume nor saved money. People around me thought I had a lot of money because my sister is a celebrity. But that money has nothing to do with me. It's all my sister's money. It's money my sister earned."
He went on, "Still, I do delivery to do what I want. Sometimes I'm embarrassed. Delivering at this age is hard to talk about," and he steadied himself, saying, "People around me say it's too late. The time you think it's too late is truly too late. But there is the opposite saying: the time you think it's too late is the fastest. I choose to believe the latter and run today as well."
