The group BTS's 'Arirang' added another record for the longest run for the group.
BigHit Music said on Aug. 15, "BTS's fifth full-length album 'Arirang (ARIRANG),' released in March, reached No. 59 on the latest U.K. Official Chart (Aug. 14-20) 'Official Albums Top 100.' With this, BTS has appeared on that chart for 21 consecutive weeks, setting a new record for the group."
BTS had earlier released the 2019 mini-album Map of the Soul: Persona (MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA), which spent 19 consecutive weeks on the chart. Since then, it set a new record with "Arirang," once again confirming BTS's global influence.
In particular, 'Arirang' is notable for being the second longest-charting album released this year after Harry Styles (23 weeks).
BigHit Music said, "'Arirang' ranked No. 22 on the detailed chart 'Official Physical Albums,' No. 24 on both the 'Official Scottish Albums' and the 'Official Album Sales' charts, No. 37 on the 'Official Vinyl Albums,' and No. 75 on 'Official Albums Streaming,' showing balanced results across the charts."
