EBS '2026 Hello Rookie' heated up Friday night with live performances that fully reflected each act's distinct colors.
The 12th episode of EBS '2026 Hello Rookie', which aired on the 14th, unfolded the second story of the July preliminaries under the subtitle 'Rookie Rookie Manmanse.' Three teams that advanced to the preliminaries — YIPPEE, Yangchigi Boy Band, and DORI — appeared on the show and delivered performances filled with firm musical identity and sincerity.
First, YIPPEE is a team of perseverance that reached the main preliminary stage after challenging the recorded music screening three times. YIPPEE said they applied as soon as they heard Hello Rookie was reviving, noting, I can't forget the 'Muki Muki Manmanse' stage I saw on EBS 'Space Sympathy' when I was in middle school, explaining their unusual motivation to try out.
The song YIPPEE chose that day was 'Jeong Won-young birthday celebration,' made to celebrate a member's birthday. YIPPEE, who filled the stage with meticulous musicianship that freely crossed psychedelic and pop, fully revealed their own original sound. The judging panel also praised them highly, saying the role of Hello Rookie is to bring teams with their own firm sound to more audiences, and rated their musical potential highly.
Next on stage, the band Yangchigi Boy Band conveyed a sincere message by saying, I still believe in love. My dream is to deliver love to many people through music, creating a warm atmosphere. MC Car, the garden also expressed anticipation for their performance, saying Yangchigi Boy Band clearly exudes great energy at a glance.
Yangchigi Boy Band, who chose the competition song 'You have to take off,' ignited the venue into a festival with their signature bold audience engagement and explosive positive energy. Their performance, which conveyed pleasant energy just by listening, received praise that it was music that makes you want to laugh out loud, pure blue joy itself, heating up the scene.
The final act was singer-songwriter DORI. During the pre-listening, DORI drew early expectations after receiving the assessment from MC Car, the garden that the song is really good and an artist who makes you curious about their live performance.
Before going on stage, DORI devotedly practiced, meticulously monitoring even each gesture in a practice room full of mirrors. On the competition stage for 'Tropical night cherry cola,' DORI presented a dreamlike atmosphere and powerful vocals at the same time, unfolding their own musical world. Their delicate expressiveness and solid vocal skills combined to immediately capture viewers' attention.
Thus, YIPPEE, Yangchigi Boy Band, and DORI richly filled the '2026 Hello Rookie' preliminary stage with music of different genres and personalities.
