Then a report from a middle school girl, Park A-in (Park So-i), flew to Jin I-su. She said she saw ghosts in the abandoned house where past murders occurred and that the wrongly killed people must be asking for the case to be solved, so she asked the police to investigate. Wanting to act bravely in front of Ju Hye-ra, Jin I-su volunteered to solve the case, and Ju Hye-ra, intrigued, followed.
While searching the eerie house, Jin I-su and Ju Hye-ra were attacked by assailants, shocking viewers. Both were struck on the head with blunt objects and lost consciousness, leaving them bound to chairs and unable to move. Worse, someone set the house on fire, but Jin I-su and Ju Hye-ra joined forces in the desperate crisis and managed to escape the house, quietly building a companion bond.
After the arson, violent crimes team 1 viewed the house as even more suspicious. In particular, Jin I-su discovered a locked mysterious basement and said, "Something is hiding in here. She explained that three months earlier her fiancé Park Hyun-su (Jung Joon-hwan) was wrongfully suspected of murder and then lost contact; his location was shown on an app as the abandoned house, and because the police would not investigate, she had searched the house herself, found the basement, and set the fire to draw attention because she could not open it on her own.
In fact, the Kim Min-seo (Hwang Jung-yoon) murder case that had cast suspicion on Park Hyun-su had been handled by Gang Ha-seo's violent crimes team 2. Head of Team An Byeong-sik (Kim Gyeol) said that at the time of the earlier investigation, all the evidence perfectly pointed to Park Hyun-su as the perpetrator, and they had judged that he had fled abroad and issued a warrant. But when one of the bodies found this time was identified as Park Hyun-su's, the mystery surrounding the abandoned house deepened.
