Actor Jung Haein promoted the work enthusiastically as interviews for the Netflix series Our Sticky Love were canceled after Ha-young was embroiled in a controversy over her great-grandfather's pro-Japanese actions.
Jung Haein posted photos taken during the filming of Our Sticky Love on his social media on the 14th. In the photos, Jung Haein is wearing an all-black suit and shows a warm appearance. Also, the rear view of him with both hands placed at his side while wearing a suit excites fans.
In Our Sticky Love, promotion was halted after Ha-young, who shared romantic chemistry with Jung Haein, was embroiled in a controversy over her great-grandfather's pro-Japanese actions.
Originally today (the 14th) Jung Haein and Ha-young were scheduled for an interview for Our Sticky Love, but it was canceled due to controversy over Ha-young's family history. (OSEN exclusive on Aug. 11, 2026) It appears the decision was influenced by the judgment that it would be inappropriate for Ha-young to appear in an interview and discuss her great-grandfather's alleged pro-Japanese actions on the day before Liberation Day.
Ha-young previously appeared on KBS 2TV Problem Child in House and said her great-grandfather opened the first Western-style hospital in Hanyang after studying in Japan and was a figure who even treated Emperor Gojong.
However, controversy erupted after it became known that the great-grandfather Ha-young mentioned was Ahn Sang-ho, who treated Gojong together with a Japanese doctor when Gojong collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage in 1919. Ahn Sang-ho entered Tokyo Jikei Medical School in 1898 and passed the medical licensing examination to practice medicine in 1902.
In particular, records including a 1918 article in the Maeil Sinbo, the official paper of the Japanese general government, showing he married a Japanese woman and followed Japanese ways of life were confirmed, raising suspicions of pro-Japanese activities. Because Ha-young had introduced her great-grandfather on broadcast as a family pride, the controversy intensified.
As the controversy spread, Ha-young posted a handwritten apology on her social media on the 12th and directly announced her position. Ha-young said, "I bow my head and apologize for causing great disappointment and hurt over matters related to my great-grandfather Ahn Sang-ho," and added, "Recently, encountering my great-grandfather's past actions made me revisit my family's history with a heavy heart."
Ha-young, who said she had not known about her great-grandfather's past actions, explained, "I only knew fragmented stories passed down through my family and ignorantly mentioned my great-grandfather as a family pride on many occasions." She added, "In the process of directly researching related materials, I learned of my great-grandfather's pro-Japanese actions," and bowed her head, saying, "I reflect on having treated family history lightly without properly understanding the painful history of the Japanese colonial period."
Ha-young said, "The fact that I did not know in time cannot be a reason to ignore or take history lightly," and repeatedly apologized, saying, "I accept that mistake seriously and, as a descendant, I sincerely apologize." She concluded by saying, "I am especially sorry for causing controversy through my shortcomings at a time just before Liberation Day."
