Actor Jung Ryeo-won expressed her respect and condolences for the late director Ahn Pan-seok.
On the 14th, Jung Ryeo-won posted a long message on her social media, saying, "Director… I still can't believe it. I had been preparing myself emotionally, but I still don't know exactly how I feel."
She continued, "Thank you for sparking something in the hearts of many actors. You have no idea how hard actors worked because they wanted to receive that '1st place' stamp you gave so much. I was happy to be able to spend the entire shoot with that feeling," she wrote.
She mentioned things she had shared with the late director Ahn Pan-seok, saying, "Thank you for teaching me that I must live close to the text. Because you obsessed more with doing less than adding more, the essence began to appear. I think I now somewhat understand the reason for focusing more on being than doing. Thank you for not compromising on certain things on set until the end."
Jung Ryeo-won added, "Ah… I was really holding back. I ended up crying a lot at the funeral home when I heard a Beatles song. Director, rest in peace," expressing her mourning for the deceased.
Jung Ryeo-won worked with the late director Ahn Pan-seok on the 2024 drama "Graduation".
The late director Ahn Pan-seok's health worsened while battling a cerebral hemorrhage, and he passed away on the 12th. He was 64. The funeral was held at Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) funeral hall.
