Group EXID Hyerin said she is currently running a taco shop.
On the 14th, the YouTube channel 'Human Story' uploaded a video titled "Why the once-popular girl group EXID's Hyerin works at a restaurant."
In the video, Hyerin conducted an interview while working directly at a taco shop located in Anguk, Seoul. She said the restaurant, which opened on Mar. 3, is already in its fifth month and drew attention by explaining, "Monthly sales average about 140 million won."
Hyerin said, "After expenses, about 40 million won remains," and added, "I run the restaurant with help from people around me, not alone."
Introducing herself as being 15 years into her debut, Hyerin confessed, "During COVID-19, all the stages disappeared and there was a time when I thought, 'Why am I living? What do I like? What am I good at?'"
She recalled, "There was no reason to get up," saying, "I was waking up at 3 or 4 a.m., so I thought I should create a reason to get up, applied for a part-time job and suddenly went out. When I went out, people were so happy, and it was shocking that I had wasted that time."
Hyerin continued, "At first, when I worked, I was conscious of people's attention (that an entertainer was running a business). Thinking about it, I wondered why I should care about that," and said that challenging herself in the food service industry was her hope, drawing encouragement.
