Comedian Yoo Sang-moo opened up about his feelings living after overcoming colon cancer.
Yoo Sang-moo released a video on the 14th saying, "This is Yoo Sang-moo... Everyone, you really, really need to be healthy."
In the video Yoo Sang-moo recalled, "I had cancer before. It was late stage 3 colon cancer, and at that time the chance of survival was about 50%. With chemotherapy it was about 70%. But it was when I was about to enter the operating room. Back then I was doing relatively well. As I went into the operating room I truly left everything behind. Money, honor, the jewelry I wore on my arm, my wallet, cards — I left them all and entered the operating room," he said.
He added, "When I went into the operating room and my hands and feet were tied, I think I had that kind of thought. If I could just open my eyes again healthy, if I could just live again healthy — that thought came to me."
He continued, "When the operating room door closed, my eyes met my wife's and she was crying. She thought, 'If only he can live,' 'If only we can remove this cancerous mass,'" he said.
Especially, Yoo Sang-moo said, "I think I had forgotten those thoughts. So thank you for always liking and commenting on my unfunny content, and maybe my story can give someone courage and a new heart, so in this short three minutes I will say a little bit at a time. Don't be sick, think only about your health, and being able to walk is happiness," he added.
Yoo Sang-moo was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2017 and underwent surgery and chemotherapy, and five years after the surgery, in 2022, he was declared cured.
