TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) member Yeonjun made a meaningful leap as a solo artist by successfully completing a solo show at the historic Troubadour in Los Angeles, USA.
On the 12th (local time), Yeonjun headlined Billboard's "Billboard: One Night Only," marking his first solo performance in the United States. The Troubadour where he took the stage is famed as the venue where Elton John and Harry Styles had their debut performances and is renowned domestically as a pop "star gateway," where BTS held their first U.S. concert in 2014. Yeonjun, who has recently been dominating major local broadcasts and radio, once again proved his solo prowess by performing at such a symbolic venue.
At the performance, Yeonjun commanded the stage with a performance notable for its dynamic control. He opened with the title track from mini album 2, NO LABELS: PART 02, and the album tracks "Ice Cream" and "Vanilla," unleashing explosive energy befitting a "K-pop representative dancer." In particular, he maximized the charm of an intimate venue by making eye contact with the audience, and he premiered the explicit version of "Fxxking Star" for the first time, driving the concert atmosphere to a climax
In a pre-show interview, Yeonjun said, "I felt at ease preparing the album. I think I learned more ways to enjoy the process. All of this is thanks to MOA (the fandom). Because of the strong support during mini album 1, I was able to challenge a wider range of styles this time," expressing deep gratitude.
Yeonjun's record in the U.S. music market is also notable. Before the solo show, he was the second Korean solo artist ever to perform on ABC's Good Morning America's summer concert series, and he achieved the milestone of being the first Korean artist invited to Z100's "Summer Bash." From large outdoor stages to intimate solo shows, he has drawn hot local responses across the board.
Answering this global interest, on the afternoon of the 13th he released the music video for "Fxxking Star" on his YouTube channel. The video, with an intense atmosphere contrasting the title track, depicted an unleashing of unstoppable potential through explosive light effects, echoing the lyric "You can't block my shine," and further showcased his stylish appeal.
Meanwhile, Yeonjun's activities extend to the sports stage. On the 13th he threw the ceremonial first pitch at the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Milwaukee Brewers game at Dodger Stadium, and he is scheduled to participate in the same day's "Korean cultural heritage night" event, broadening his connection with local sports fans.
