JYP Entertainment band Xdinary Heroes member Geon Il is leaving the team.
JYP Entertainment said on the 13th, "Regarding recent matters related to member Geon Il, we fully recognize the seriousness of the situation and have had extensive discussions with the artist from multiple angles. As a result, we determined that it is no longer possible to continue team activities together and have decided to terminate the exclusive contract by mutual agreement," the company said in an official statement.
It added, "Accordingly, Geon Il will withdraw from Xdinary Heroes effective today and conclude his team activities. We sincerely apologize for causing concern to fans with this sudden news," the company said.
JYP said, "Going forward, Xdinary Heroes will continue activities as a five-member group. We will provide full support in various ways so that the members can focus stably on their music activities," the company said.
Geon Il, a drummer who graduated from the Berklee College of Music in the United States, had led the team as leader of Xdinary Heroes. However, recently a post alleging that Geon Il used abusive language toward fans was uploaded to an online community, sparking controversy.
