SBS revealed its broadcasting lineup for the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games. From Bae Seong-jae to Jeong Woo-young and Jun Hyun-moo, they will serve as casters and a large number of legendary commentators for each sport will join.
SBS said Bae Seong-jae, Jeong Woo-young and Jun Hyun-moo will join as broadcasters for the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games, which open on Sept. 19, 2026.
First, Bae Seong-jae will showcase all-around activity in major events, including his main sport football, the badminton event featuring Ahn Se-young, swimmer Kim Woo-min, and judo. Bae Seong-jae will also handle the opening ceremony broadcast. The men's football team, which is aiming for a fourth consecutive Asian Games title, is placed in a group with Qatar and Saudi Arabia from the group stage, and Bae Seong-jae will be responsible for the tournament's most intense matches from the start.
Meanwhile, Jeong Woo-young will reach viewers through broadcasts of baseball, fencing and basketball. He plans to cover the baseball team that is aiming for back-to-back titles following Hangzhou, as well as fencing broadcasts, to share the gold-medal moments. Jeong will also broadcast the men's basketball team's attempt for a gold medal for the first time in 12 years, led by stars such as Lee Hyun-jung and Yeo Jun-seok, conveying the vitality of the scene.
Jun Hyun-moo will handle sports broadcasts for SBS following the Paris Olympics and the CONCACAF World Cup. Jun aims to deliver both entertainment and emotion with broadcasts of the high jump featuring Woo Sang-hyeok and archery.
SBS decided to add them to the broadcasting team as a strategy to maintain attention during the tournament, with the steady presence of Bae Seong-jae and Jeong Woo-young covering prime-time marquee matches and adding Jun Hyun-moo to sustain buzz throughout the competition. With the three showing their respective charms, attention is focused on their performances in the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games broadcasts.
A commentary team to match the broadcasters is also waiting. Powerful commentators who participated in the Hangzhou Asian Games — swimmer Park Tae-hwan, badminton player Lee Yong-dae, table tennis player Hyun Jung-hwa and baseball player Lee Dae-ho — are joined by new additions including fencer Koo Bon-gil, archer Lim Dong-hyun, judoka Song Dae-nam and taekwondo practitioner Kim So-hee, enhancing the listening experience of the sports. Han Song-yi, who holds Asian Games gold and silver medals, newly joins the women's volleyball coverage, and football will be covered by Park Joo-ho and Jang Ji-hyun as a two-person team, while baseball will be covered by Lee Dae-ho and Lee Soon-chul in a two-person format to increase broadcast density.
SBS also improved quality on the broadcast screen. It significantly strengthened CGs such as archery heat maps, swimming distance gauges and real-time score trackers so even viewers seeing the sport for the first time can follow the flow, and it will newly present athlete profile cartoons animated using AI techniques in collaboration with illustrator Gwang.
The 2026 Nagoya Asian Games, featuring this glamorous broadcasting lineup, will run for 16 days from the opening ceremony on Sept. 19 to Oct. 4, 2026.
Meanwhile, SBS will produce the Asian Games special variety show Nagoya gargo-ya to document a special journey recorded on the front lines of the Asian Games by Bae Seong-jae and Jun Hyun-moo. It is determined to deliver the only Asian Games reality show that captures both inside and outside the commentary booth: the real days of the broadcasters that could not be shown in live broadcasts, the hidden stories of medalists and the intense heat of the现场.
