KATSEYE performed with dazzling banter and stage presence on a major U.S. late-night talk show a day before the release of their new album.
On the 13th (Korea time), KATSEYE appeared on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and reunited with host Jimmy Fallon, following their meeting in February. Fallon said, "So many things are happening these days," expressing his pleasure at their strong activity.
The broadcast delivered news of their third EP, "WILD," to be released on the 14th, and of the documentary film's premiere. Fallon focused on KATSEYE's remarkable achievements over the past year, including an American Music Award win, a Grammy nomination and their appearance at Coachella.
The members cited "maturity" and "growth" as the key words for the new record. Lala, who participated in writing the track "Unloveu," said, "Writing a song for KATSEYE has been my biggest goal for years," showing special affection for the song.
Questions about the intense performances continued. Danielle described the choreography for the new title track "Hootie Frutti" as the most difficult, saying, "Stamina killing," raising expectations. About the pre-release single "Animal," Lala said, "Maintaining the intricate formations is not easy," and jokingly added, "It's a miracle we haven't knocked into each other on stage yet," drawing laughs.
They also shared behind-the-scenes stories of working on "Animal" with pop star Ed Sheeran. The members recalled that at the NRJ Awards in the past, Sheeran said, "I've got this song for you," and personally proposed a collaboration, and Lala perfectly imitated Sheeran's British accent, heating up the studio atmosphere.
Regarding the North American and European arena tour "The WILDWORLD Tour," which opens this September, Yoonchae said, "I think it will hit me only when I arrive at the venue. Since it's our first arena tour, the stage will be really huge," conveying her excitement. Fallon praised them, saying, "Tickets sold out within 48 hours and shows were added. It's really amazing."
The highlight of the broadcast was the "Animal" performance, accented by leopard-print outfits and gold accessories. Even amid gestures reminiscent of wild animal claws and intense choreography, they proved steady vocal skills and drew enthusiastic audience response.
All tracks from KATSEYE's new EP "WILD" will be released at 12 a.m. on the 14th, and the music video for the title track will be unveiled at 1 p.m. the same day.
