Actor Jeon So-min's younger brother Jeon Wook-min issued an explanation after his remark that his sister's earnings are not his own money sparked controversy.
On the 11th, Jeon Wook-min said, "I saw that my video was turned into an article. It is obvious that my sister's money is not my money. That does not mean I ever said I did not receive help from my sister."
He went on, "However, seeing that some articles written maliciously conveyed the story differently from my intention, I feel that my sister must be having a really hard time and I feel sorry."
He continued, "I have thought that as the eldest son, it is my role to be responsible for and support a family. But up to now I have not been able to fulfill that role properly, and instead my sister is shouldering many parts of it."
He also said, "That fact makes me feel most sorry and heavy-hearted. I want to work hard to become a truly dependable son and younger brother and take responsibility for my sister and family. As part of that, the video that was produced is, contrary to its intent, being turned into articles with unverified content and hurting our family."
Finally he added, "I would appreciate it if unverified matters would not cause harm to me, my sister, or our family. Thank you for watching the video. I will work harder so that someday I can share something wonderful. Thank you for watching the video."
Earlier, Jeon Wook-min drew attention after revealing his current situation working as a delivery part-timer to make a living. In the video he said, "My sister is a famous actress," and "I appeared on broadcasts several times thanks to my sister. So I also dreamed of becoming an actor. From the side, what can I say — a close feeling? So actually I thought I would succeed."
However, Jeon Wook-min said, "But the wall of reality was much higher and thicker than I thought. My age is 38. I'm almost 40. I have no flashy career or saved money. People around me thought I had a lot of money because my sister is an entertainer. But that money has nothing to do with me. It's all my sister's money. Because it's money my sister earned."
He went on, "Still, I do delivery work to do what I want. Sometimes it's embarrassing. Delivering at this age. It's hard to say," and added, "People around me say it's too late. When you think it's too late, it's really late. But there's the opposite saying. When you think it's too late is the fastest time. I choose to believe the latter and run today as well," resolving himself.
