HYBE and Geffen Records' joint girl group KATSEYE achieved strong results for two consecutive weeks on the U.S. Billboard main song chart with the pre-release track "Animal."
On Aug. 11 (Korean time), according to the latest chart (dated Aug. 15) released by Billboard in the United States, KATSEYE's "Animal" ranked 35th on the main song chart, the "Hot 100." After entering the chart for the first time last week at 24, marking the group's highest "Hot 100" debut in its history, it has appeared on the chart for two consecutive weeks, showing a steady upward trend.
On the global charts, "Animal" ranked 16th on the "Global 200," and on the "Global (excluding U.S.)" chart it rose one spot from 12th the previous week to 11th, setting a new personal best. In addition, it proved its local popularity by ranking 27th on "Pop Airplay," which is based on radio airplay in the United States.
In addition, the Latin pop track "Gabriela," released in June last year, placed 168th on the "Global 200" and 165th on the "Global (excluding U.S.)" this week, marking an impressive 59 consecutive weeks on the chart. Not only the new song but also existing tracks continue to receive steady love, confirming KATSEYE's solid global fandom.
Also, KATSEYE's second EP "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS" rose seven spots from the previous week to rank 123rd on the main album chart, the "Billboard 200." Their debut EP released in 2024, "SIS (Soft Is Strong)," also sat at 168th.
On "Top Album Sales," which tallies physical album sales, both albums ranked side by side in the upper tier. "SIS (Soft Is Strong)" ranked 15th, and "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS" ranked 28th, demonstrating steady album strength.
KATSEYE will release their third EP "WILD" on the 14th amid this upward momentum. "WILD" is an album that captures the growth and change KATSEYE has shown over the past two years, and following "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS" it signals their new musical direction that is freer and bolder.
Earlier, KATSEYE released a highlight medley of five tracks, including "PINKY UP" and "Animal," on the 11th, raising expectations for the new album. Having already proven their presence on global charts with "Animal," attention is focused on the performance that will follow the official album release.
They will also meet fans on screen. KATSEYE's special documentary film "KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS" opens today (the 12th) in about 1,600 theaters across 61 countries worldwide. The limited screening runs through the 15th and captures the process by which girls with dreams grew into global pop stars through unseen footage and member interviews.
KATSEYE debuted in the United States in 2024 based on HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk's "multi-home, multi-genre" strategy and the K-pop production system. In particular, KATSEYE won three awards at the "2026 American Music Awards," including "New Artist of the Year," and were nominated in two categories at the "68th Grammy Awards."
