Actor Jung Haein revealed a story in which preparing a staff dinner for as many as 140 people nearly led to a "major accident."
On the 11th the YouTube channel 'Salon Drip' released a video titled 'The pretty Haein who treats people to meals.'
That day Jung Haein recounted an anecdote about hosting a generous dinner for the staff during filming. While waiting to shoot in Yeongdeok, he arranged a large-scale dinner for about 140 people.
Jung Haein said that although the place he found at the time was not originally an all-you-can-eat restaurant, he prepared it so the staff could eat as much beef as they wanted. He especially noted, "People from Seoul kindly came down to Yeongdeok," saying that even actors who had no filming schedules attended the dinner, which suggested the unusually large scale.
However, the problem arose during the reservation process for the dinner venue. Because it was a time when group dinner "no-show scams" impersonating celebrities were occurring one after another, the restaurant could not easily trust the reservation.
Jung Haein recalled that even when his manager said, "Jung Haein's manager," the restaurant asked, "Who is Jung Haein?" and even when he called personally they were reluctant to believe him. Even when talks progressed with difficulty, the restaurant's circumstances of having to accommodate a large number of people sometimes led to reservations being suddenly canceled the day before.
Because notices had already been sent to about 140 people, Jung Haein and his manager were in a desperate situation. They judged it would be difficult to resolve by phone, so the two of them went to the restaurant in person, explained the situation, and barely succeeded in securing the reservation.
Looking back, Jung Haein said, "Thinking about it now gives me chills. It almost became a major accident." Had they not found a restaurant after notifying 140 people of the dinner venue, it would have been an awkward situation.
After twists and turns, the dinner was a success. Jung Haein said the staff ate and enjoyed themselves freely, humorously describing the scene as "a total mess," which drew laughter. As the anecdote of Jung Haein personally going to the restaurant to secure a reservation and preparing a beef dinner for the large-scale staff became known, fans reacted with comments such as, "A beef dinner for 140 people—different in scale," "It would have been really nerve-wracking if it had been canceled after already notifying everyone," and "It's amazing he went in person to secure the reservation."
