Broadcaster Ham So-won recalled the critical moment during the traffic accident.
On the 11th, Ham So-won posted a long message on her social account saying, "AFleetingDream It feels like I had a dramatic dream. But it was a dream that gave me deep enlightenment. For a moment 5 minutes, no 3 minutes, no 1 minute, what happened?"
Earlier, last month a media outlet reported that while Ham So-won was parking her car on a downhill slope, during the process of engaging the side brake she collided with a utility pole, was diagnosed with a pelvic fracture as a result, and underwent surgery at a hospital in Seoul.
Amid this, Ham So-won said, "I lay on the ground and couldn't get up. Even when I tried to straighten my legs or move, I couldn't. When I looked up at the sky I saw Hye-jeong's face. She was crying 'Mom.' Hye-jeong is safe. 'Oh thank you. Our baby is safe,'" expressing great relief that her daughter was unharmed at the time of the accident.
She said, "'Hye-jeong, don't cry, mom's okay. From mom's bag, call grandmother and tell her to come now,' 'Okay,' then Hye-jeong disappeared. Hye-jeong called the neighbor woman and the elderly woman next door. It's a relief. 'Please take care of Hye-jeong until grandmother comes,' and I got on the 119 ambulance. The pain was painful but worry came first. My mother is 77 years old, so it would be hard for her to watch Hye-jeong alone.. On the way to 119 I could feel from the atmosphere that I was badly injured and it was very dangerous," she revealed the severity of her condition.
She went on, "I prayed to my deity. Whenever I am afraid, angry, or wronged, the deity appears. That day I must have been so desperate that I prayed to Buddha, God, Allah, and the heavenly spirits. 'I have a 9-year-old daughter. I also have a 77-year-old mother. Please keep me from committing the unfilial act of leaving before my parents. Let me be able to care for my daughter who was born late until she is 20, or at least until she is married, no, I promised my child. If Hye-jeong has sons or daughters I said I would raise them all. Please let me live to keep that promise.' Then I think I lost consciousness," she confessed.
Ham So-won said, "I don't remember how I arrived at the hospital. It was so cold and so painful and my consciousness was fluctuating. The hospital stay was two months minus 10 days. After discharge and returning home it really felt like I had a dramatic dream. The everyday life now felt as if the 50 years I had lived were sweet like a dream. On the first day back I looked at the mountain and thought. The love I gave, marriage? It was sweet. The day I gave birth felt as sweet as a honey jar. Looking back at my life amid the bitter pain in the hospital, the 50 years were nothing but dreamlike happiness," she reflected on her life. The released photos showed Ham So-won tearfully holding her daughter Hye-jeong and a peaceful indoor scene. After the accident report, fans expressed concern about her condition, asking, "Are you okay?" and "Have you been discharged?"
Meanwhile, Ham So-won debuted in the entertainment industry after being selected as Miss Korea Pacific in 1997 and gained great popularity while working in China. She married Jin Hua, a Chinese man 18 years her junior, in 2018 and gave birth to daughter Hye-jeong. After recently divorcing Jin Hua, she is raising her daughter alone.
