NCT WISH (NCT WISH) is enjoying soaring popularity in Japan.
On July 10, the Recording Industry Association of Japan announced that NCT WISH's Japanese single released on July 15, 'YO-I-DON! / BOY MEETS GIRL' (YO-I-DON! / BOY MEETS GIRL) surpassed cumulative shipments of 250,000 copies as of July and received platinum certification in the gold disc institutional sector.
This single contains "YO-I-DON!," which描描 the exhilaration and resolve of running toward a beginning, and "BOY MEETS GIRL," a remake of a hit song by the popular 1994 Japanese group TRF.
NCT WISH adds a bright, refreshing charm that suits summer to the original's warm, wistful sentiment, gaining popularity locally as well.
In particular, upon the single's release it achieved No. 1 on the Oricon daily singles chart, and the double title track "YO-I-DON!" reached No. 3 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, yielding strong results for both the record and digital single. With this first "platinum" certification, their local popularity became even more apparent.
Meanwhile, NCT WISH will appear on Japan's representative music program TV Asahi's "Music Station" on Aug. 28 to perform "BOY MEETS GIRL."
