Actor Ahn Eun-jin transforms into a film director whose life has truly unraveled, bringing realistic empathy to living rooms.
The KBS 2TV new Saturday-Sunday miniseries A Love Other Than Yours (directed by Hwang Seung-gi·Lee Ga-ram, written by Yoo Soo-ji, produced by UNI CHEM), which premieres on Sept. 12, released three first still cuts of actor Ahn Eun-jin on the 11th.
A Love Other Than Yours is a realistic, relatable romantic melodrama about a couple in the 10th year of dating who face unfamiliar feelings toward one another. Ahn Eun-jin plays Im Mi-do, Seo Kang-jun's (playing Namgung Ho) girlfriend of 10 years and a film director who wanders between dreams, reality and love, taking on a different kind of acting transformation.
Im Mi-do was once a promising newcomer praised for a short film, but after a series of projects fell through she is experiencing the bottom of her life. Namgung Ho, who has been with her since they were seven, is her oldest friend and a lover who has stayed by her side for 10 years, but now, when both work and love make it hard to envision a next step, unexpected unfamiliar feelings seep into Im Mi-do's daily life and begin to create complicated ripples.
In the released photos, Ahn Eun-jin appears throughout filming sites, a work café and everyday spaces fully embodying Im Mi-do. Her facial acting, which combines the firmness of someone who refuses to give up on her dream and the deep worry in the face of a reality that does not go as planned, is striking. Expectations are high for the chemistry of the 10-year-real-life couple she will show with Seo Kang-jun and the detailed emotional arc that will come as a once-solid love begins to waver.
The production team said, "Im Mi-do is a character anyone who has once wavered between dream and reality can deeply empathize with. From the first shoot, Ahn Eun-jin delicately expressed Im Mi-do's realism and firmness, and the subtle emotions hidden within." They added, "This fall many viewers will laugh and cry with Im Mi-do's love and growth."
Meanwhile, the KBS 2TV new Saturday-Sunday miniseries A Love Other Than Yours will premiere at 9:20 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 12. It will be made available to viewers in more than 240 countries worldwide through the global streaming service Amazon Prime Video simultaneously with the domestic broadcast.
