Group Blackpink's Rosé expressed candid feelings regarding the 10th anniversary event.
Rosé sent a lengthy message on the fan communication platform on Aug. 11, saying "I have had a lot on my mind these past few days, so I couldn't write sooner."
She said, "I think I felt a lot of regret as I welcomed this 10th anniversary that I, like BLINK, had been waiting for. It wasn't that I couldn't understand the fans' feelings; rather, I empathized, so it took me a while to organize what to say first," and "During that time I feel like I made you all feel lonelier, and my heart is heavy. With the wish to convey my sincerity to BLINK even a little, I'm leaving this post now," she said.
Earlier, Blackpink held a meet-and-greet event on Aug. 8 at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul with 40 fans randomly selected. During the process, there were suggestions that some members would not attend, but the members attended the event as a full group and met with fans.
Regarding this, Rosé said, "This time of 10 years, in which I grew and was cherished while walking together with BLINK, has great meaning to me, and my biggest wish was to celebrate together. So I wanted Aug. 8, that one day, to be a time when we all smiled and were happy, but things didn't go as hoped, and I am full of regret," and apologized to fans.
She continued, "I am truly grateful to the many BLINKs who came to see us in this hot weather; it was really nice and also I want to say I'm sorry that we could meet after a long time," and "I am so thankful and overwhelmingly happy that over these 10 years we have received so much love and become a relationship where we can give and receive love from each other," expressing gratitude.
Finally she said, "Only after coming home alone did all the emotions come crashing over me. It took time to pull myself together, so I couldn't speak more easily and the post is a bit late, and I'm sorry," and "It was an anniversary for our Blackpink that worked hard for 10 years and for the BLINK who gave us so much love. We were all very regretful, but once again I sincerely congratulate us, and let's continue to build many more good memories," she said.
